The Know the Gold Campaign is a six-month-long community-driven effort to raise funds for local children. The William N. Pennington Foundation has supported NNCCF since 2013, funding our office space and standing by families through the Family Assistance Fund. Since 2016, they’ve doubled the impact of our Know the Gold Campaign by matching every donation dollar-for-dollar up to the campaign goal.
Funds raised through the Know the Gold Campaign support programs to ensure families across northern Nevada, from Reno to the most rural communities, never face childhood cancer alone. Throughout the campaign and at our grand finale radiothon, our incredible community rallies around these young cancer warriors. On average, NNCCF assists 150 families each year, and the funds raised during the campaign help support our programs and services throughout the year. The campaign launches in September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The gold ribbon is the national symbol of childhood cancer. This is why we ask that you #KnowtheGold and help us build awareness.
